  5. Limiting factors • Our tree was struck by lightning a while back, and because of that happening our tree is dead. • Termites are living in and eating the tree

  6. Interesting Facts • The White Oak has been the state tree of Illinois since 1973 • It is a large tree, growing up to 100 ft tall • Its trunk can get up to 4 ft across • Usually grows in forests with other oaks, but can also be found on edges of lakes, ponds, and streams • Leaves are 4 to 9 inches long with between 5 to 9 lobes

  7. Purpose of the wood • It can be used for cabinets, doors, and floors

  8. Thing we enjoyed the most • Being outside and not in the classroom
