It is easy to create a professional resume if you know how to make it. A resume is a person's concise document which includes educational history, professional skills, and experiences. It is a marketing document especially when you apply for a job where you sell your talents, experience, qualifications and proficiency to an employer.

1 Format of the Resume It is the first essential thing while creating a resume. There are different types of resume template which are created for different job requirements. You should try different formatting that includes separation of every section with a line, put the different section in a separate box and showing all information as a list. After testing various formats select the one which matches with job requirements and looks professional.
2 Personal Profile It mentioned at the starting of the resume. A personal profile should be original, creative and well written. It helps reviewer to get more information about you as a person.
3 Personal Details Normally personal details includes Name, Address, Contact number, DOB (Date of Birth), eMail ID. A photograph is optional that can be used according to the job requirements but if you are going to use then it must be passport size. If you have other address then it can be categorized as the permanent and current address.
4 Education & Qualification This section is to show your academic records. It is the most important part of the resume if you are going to apply for teaching or institutional jobs. Basically, it includes name of the institutes, period and name of the diploma/certificate/degree awarded by the institutes.
5 Work Experience It is the prime section for some jobs which need experienced candidates. The most recent job should come first. The most common details include name of the organization/company, location, period, work profile. You should show relevant work experience in terms of job you are going to apply if you have. Relating work skills with the job applying for also gives extra benefits.
6 Skills & Achievements This is the section to show your personal and professional skills that you have developed. It is the milestone if you have a long list of skills and achievements to show. Having knowledge of multiple languages, computing, driving etc. can be mentioned as skills.
7 Interests/Hobbies You should avoid mentioning passive hobbies like watching TV, reading etc. be specific to mention what you like to watch and genre of reading. If you have uncommon hobbies like skydiving, painting etc. then it can highlight you in the crowd but only mention if you have.
8References It is optional section for fresh educate student but for experienced candidate it may add some fruits. References are related with your past companies where you have worked or people with whom you worked. If you have number of references to show then mention only two is adequate.
9 Spelling & Grammar It may be reason to get rejected because it shows your mistakes at initial level. Double checking and reading may help to avoid these mistakes.
