Environmental Impacts on Pavement Foundation Layers

This workshop focuses on the environmental effects on the performance of pavement foundation layers. The research team from Iowa State University will present their objectives, research plan, and future expectations. Topics include the characterization of geomaterials, stiffness and resilient modulus, permanent deformation, shear strength, freeze-thaw durability, moisture susceptibility, and drainage. Field data collection and modeling analyses will be conducted to gather information on FWD, frost heave-thaw settlement, temperature, moisture, and climate data. The workshop will conclude with the presentation of the draft/final report.
