This was a really fun, hands-on learning internship. I went in each day not knowing what to expect, but it was laid back enough so I never felt like I had to rush to finish a project. I was given lots of responsibilities and I could see that my supervisors trusted me. The managers were always willing to help provide help and feedback to us interns.
Internship Objectives • Gain hands-on experience in the sporting industry and in marketing. • Learn the different programs offered at Arctic Wolf. • Oversee an event from the planning stages to follow-up, and learn the inner workings of event management.
Day-in-the-life ofan AWIC Intern Each day I was in the office from 9-5pm, but the tasks given to me each day varied. My usual jobs included: creating flyers and other promotional materials, writing press releases, calling sponsors, researching current and possible target markets, and working on special events.
Fish Camp FreezeOut I proposed the idea of an event called Fish Camp FreezeOut. This event is geared for A&M freshmen, but is open to everyone. Anyone who walks through the doors wearing a Fish Camp shirt will only pay $1.00 to skate. The target attendance is 2,000 students. I believe this event will attract many people because of the cheap price and large distribution of flyers. Each camper at Fish Camp will receive a flyer, a press release has been sent out, and flyers have also been distributed around campus and the community.
