  2. Definition Of Communism. • A political theory derived from Karl Marx, advocating class war and leading to a society in which all property is publicly owned and each person works and is paid according to their abilities and needs.

  3. School-Friendly Definition. • Communism is a form of government where one Dictator changes everything, so that everyone in the entire country is equal. Everyone is equal in income because the government and their employees take all of the money. Government takes the peoples rights.

  4. Countries with Communism Todays. • China • Cuba • Laos • North Korea • Vietnam • During the Reign of the Soviet Union, there were other communist countries throughout Eastern Europe, Asia, and Africa.

  12. Karl Marx’s Idea of Communism • Marx thought that a society should be classless, so his idea was to free the lower class from poverty and give them a chance. He thought that the government should control all production, and make sure that no one could out do others. Government controls education, labor, and imposes a big tax on everyone.

  13. Communism Today • In countries with communism today, the government is very controlling and has a lot of power. Except for North Korea, most communist countries are willing to co-exist with a liberal democracy. Some are also adopting a free market economy. Last they are less confrontational in international affairs.
