ADD Guidance on Consumer Satisfaction Data Collection for Information Dissemination Katherine Cargill-Willis
DD ACT • Requires that one of the indicators of progress be consumer satisfaction
Clearance Process • During the OMB Clearance Process for the Annual Report, ADD received comments on how to collect consumer satisfaction data on the products they disseminate.
ORIGINALLY ADD PROVIDED GUIDANCE SO THAT: • UCEDDs could collect and report the consumer satisfaction data using qualitative methods
ADD RECONSIDERED • ADD determined that the qualitative data collected on products would be hard to aggregate in a useful form
ADD DRAFTED NEW GUIDANCE THAT: • will be less burdensome • still useful
UCEDDS WILL • No longer collect data on products in general • Collect data on the utility of their Website
THE DETAILS • Data must be collected from at least 50 people each project year. • The sample may include members of the UCEDD’s Consumer Advisory Committee, or other UCEDD’s CACs.
DATA WILL BE COLLECTED AND REPORTED USING A FOUR-POINT SCALE: • very satisfied • satisfied • somewhat satisfied • not at all satisfied
REVIEW VIA A FOCUS GROUP • AUCD contacted a small group of directors and data coordinators for input on the tool.
RESPONSES FROM THE FOCUS GROUP • The comments were positive • There were questions • Let’s talk about the questions now
SAMPLE QUESTIONS FROM THE FOCUS GROUP • Should data be collected just on the core website? • Can we use other advisory boards?
ADD will review the feedback • ADD will finalize the guidance • The new reporting procedures will go into effect August 1, 2009 for the report due July 30, 2010
