  2. Why Coexistence?Comments from SDM’s State of The Market “An undeniable consequence of the recession is customers that are cost conscious and interested in extending the life of existing equipment” Mark Wilson, vice president, Marketing, Infinova “As in any economy, end users are tracking every dollar. For the most part end users are still very careful with money, and are focused on finding ways to do things more efficiently to fit their budgets.” Fredrik Nilsson, general manager, Axis Communications,

  3. What is Coexistence? • In the control room, analog and IP work side by side • Analog video wall on one side, IP video wall on the other side • Operators use the same system keyboard, joystick and keyboards commands, to manage both video walls. • The coexistent solution uses the control room’s DVRs, matrix switchers and keyboards to manage cameras • Avoids the cost of having an encoder for each analog camera. • Analog picture quality and system response remains at the traditional analog video wall level that operators are used to because there is no encoding of the video. • IP video quality is not affected because you are using a NVR.

  4. How does Coexistence Help Security Consultants? • Start to build the IP side of your control room now • No need to pay $150-200 per camera for encoders to integrate analog cameras • Continue to use existing analog video wall, matrix switchers and system keyboards • Avoid re-training operators

  5. Should You Jump to IP?
