  2. TP- CAST • We predict that someone will “Douse the Flames” of conflict between multiple parties.

  3. P- Paraphrase • We think it’s about brave soldiers willing to do whatever it takes to fight for their country. • Then dealing with consequences such as diseases from the war.

  4. C- Connotation • “While leaders ululated and urged them to their death pronouncing them as brave young lions.” • Ululated: to howl like a wolf. • Schadenfreude: to have pleasure at someone else’s misfortune.

  5. A- Attitude • The poets attitude was that he wanted to let people know about how serious war is in some country or his country. • The speakers attitude was to drill the message into your brain and heart.

  6. S- Shifts • A disease broke out and everyone died, that was the only shift.

  7. T- Title • We were right with our prediction that they had a conflict but they didn’t resolve it or “douse” it.

  8. T- Theme • The poet trying to say that war is a terrible thing and its hard for people to get away from.
