  1. Saquen… • Las Agendas-to write down tonight’s homework (carta a la maestra) • Tarea: Syllabus

Unacarta a la maestra • At least 150 words (a few paragraphs) and TYPED Must include: Name Origin Family Hobbies or sports you play Your experience with the Spanish language, does anyone in your family speak Spanish to you at home? What are your goals/reasons for studying Spanish? A postscript (P.S.) that reveals something unique or unusual about you.

  3. Materials Needed by Monday • Binder with a labeled “Spanish” section • AvancemosWorkbook • Spiral Notebook for Notes • Lined paper and writing utensils I will check to see if you have these items on Monday

  4. Class Rules: • BE respectful (to each other, the teacher, the classroom) • DO NOT BE disruptive (interfering with anyone else’s ability to learn) If you cannot follow the rules, you cannot be in here.

  5. What to do if you are absent… • Make-up Binder for handouts given in class • Oahs.net for HW assignments and warm-ups • YOU are responsible for finding out/making up what you missed (notes, HW, warm-up and handouts) • Make-up assignments on your own time! • Write down contact info of 3 friends from class

  6. Homework • You will be assigned homework about 4/5 nights a week • Each assignment is worth 5 pts. and due at the beginning of class • 3 missed HW assignments = Call Home • NO LATE HOMEWORK will be accepted unless you have an excused absence

  7. Tests and Quizzes • Almost every Friday you will have a test or a quiz • Worth 40% of your grade • Test/quiz make-ups before/after school or lunch

  8. Honors Students • Honors students will be given different homework assignments, tests/quizzes and projects • The work that is given to you is typically more difficult • In order to stay in honors you score an overall average of 85% or higher on the quiz/test portion of your grade

  9. A Typical Day in Spanish Class • You are expected to have three things out and ready by the time the bell rings • Agendas • HW from night before • CSM • Warm-up (CSM) • Notes on new material (Spiral Notebook) • Review/Classwork
