  3. STANDARDIZING & TRAINING MARKERS • Providing an answer key with acceptable and unacceptable answers for each exam. • To discuss the alternative answers , instructors of the same module come together under the leadership of a testing member • A revised key • Remarking students’ exam sheets

  4. STANDARDIZING& TRAINING MARKERS WRITING • Familiarizing markers with the rubric • Standardization session of an hour before starting marking (viewing samples, trying to reach consensus) • Double marking for inter-rater reliability • Third marking (on condition that there is a disagreement between the first two markers)

  5. SPEAKING • Standardization session of an hour ( Not before every single test) • Examining videos of IELTS test-takers. (Marking and trying to reach an agreement on grades)
