  2. Confucius Confucius was born into a wealthy social class and was able to be educated as a scholar and spent his time with other scholars or disciples. Confucius traveled with his disciples in search of a ruler in which he could advise. During his travel he noticed that people were living in much conflict during the Zhou Dynasty. Many people were mean, cruel, and insensitive towards others. He was also known as Master Kung or Kung Fuzi.

  3. Confucius Confucius was a teacher of morals, or deciding what’s right or wrong, and a disciplined thinker. Because of his teachings, he was an advisor to a king, and many people went to him for advice. He revised the Book of Documents.

  4. Analects The Analects is a collection of sayings by Confucius that were written down by his students and is the main printed work of Confucius. Confucius tried to give examples of how people should live their lives and treat one another.

  5. Confucius says: ‘It is best to practice what one preaches.“ "If one is out of harmony with others, peace will be hard to attain.“ “Fine words and an insinuating appearance are seldom associated with true virtue.” "The superior man seeks [room for improvement or occasion to blame] in himself; the inferior man seeks it in others."

  6. Confucianism Confucianism teaches the middle way, which means that people should make balanced decisions. For example: People should think twice before fighting. The middle way between being a coward and being a reckless person is bravery. Confucianism teaches that a person Should accept his role in society: ruler, teacher, noble, peasant, etc.

  7. Mencius Mencius was a follower of Confucius that declared that people were good by nature. He also spread Confucianism.

  8. Daoism Is the belief in finding the “way” or dao, of the universe. Laoziwas the first great teacher of Daoism and taught before Confucius. Daoists believe that people should live in harmony with nature, not apart from it.
