  4. Freshmen must select a total of 35 credits English  5 credits Math  5 credits Science  5 credits History  5 credits Physical Education  2.5 1st you will pick your general courses...

  5. and then… Electives  12.50 Credits

  6. Course Levels? Teachers will recommend your level

  7. College Preparatory – Similar to your most difficult middle school class, outside reading required. Homework: per course 30-45 minutes daily.

  8. Honors - Challenging… but possible… if you are committed. Must do reading, writing, and research. Homework: per course one hour daily. Advanced Placement (offered for grades 11 and 12)

  11. Foreign Language Spanish 1 (College Preparatory) French 1 (College Preparatory) Most colleges and universities require at least two years of study in the same foreign language. More competitive institutions require 3 – 4 years. *Consult with English Teacher

Class of 2018 Graduation Requirements: 20 credits in English 15 credits in each: math, social studies, and science 10 credits in fine or applied arts fine arts: music, drama, visual arts applied arts: tech education., business, production technology 10 credits in physical education/health 25 credits from electives courses Total credits = 110 Qualifying scores on the MCAS Math, ELA and Science exams required for graduation.

  19. Your GPA is the total of all the final grades you received in all your classes from grades 9 thru12.

  20. Grade Point Average – is the calculation of your grades: College Prep Honors A = 4 points A = 4.5 B = 3 points B = 3.5

  21. The GPA is then used to show colleges how well you have done in high school. This is one of several measures colleges use to determine if you are a good candidate for their school.
