The Truth in Movies “You want the truth?! You want the truth?! You can’t handle the truth!!” • This was a line in the movie “A few good Men”. • The person who questioned in Supposedly, he and said this. said this was court. was getting angry END
The Truth in Movies • Sometimes, the truth is too hard to handle. It may be too astonishing or really unexpected. Often, the truth must be known, and then it is exposed. At other times, however, it would be better for everyone not to find out. This is when a cover-up is made, usually resulting in lies. END
END The Truth in Movies “And the truth shall set you free” LIES • From the Bible, this meant that the truth can free anyone from darkness. Lies are not permitted, as they cease the light. From the movie, this meant probably meant, in my opinion, that throughout the time while telling the truth, it ruins his relationships. However, Jim Carrey realizes near the end that it gave him the freedom of not keeping the truth a secret. Then, after everything settles, he can start a new life of relationships.
The Truth in Movies • “…the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth?” are words said to a person being questioned in court. • The truth.........................no lies • The whole truth.............everything you know • Nothing but the truth...no unnecessary information END
The Truth in Books-Pride and Prejudice When the writer wrote “truth universally acknowledged”, she might have meant many people believe this, but it is not actually a “real” truth-it is rather like an assumption or judgment. • IT IS A TRUTH UNIVERSALLY ACKNOWLEDGED, THAT A SINGLE MAN IN POSSESION OF A GOOD FORTUNE, MUST BE IN WANT OF A WIFE. END
The Truth In Media • Entertainment news programs keep their viewers by being humorous and making jokes sometimes. However, they are formal when they have an interview with someone. • Current Affair programs and the daily news usually are up to date with many incidents. They keep their audiences by reporting of several serious and shocking news. Parents watch these to be informed about their children’s safety, and also about themselves. • Truth plays a vital part of keeping people from watching the news. This truth may be seen as interesting stories, as well as informative reports and even some reports are made for viewers to laugh about and remember thoroughly. END
