Registry developments and plans • Involved organisations / governance Executive Agency „Electronic Communications Networks and Information Systems” at the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communicationsis is INSPIRE MSCP and responsible for INSPIRE Directive and policy issues implementation. More than 20 organisations are currently identified as INSPIRE stakeholders. • Scope • INSPIRE-only | NSDI | cross-sector | At present EA “ECNIS” is in tender evaluation procedure about establishment of NSDI including the following main components: national geo portal, metadata for datasets and services, view, discovery and transformation services. • Content • Which registers are (planned to be) included It is planned to be included: Registers for registered services, users, administrators and stakeholders providing data and services, Glossary (using GEMET Thesaurus and INSPIRE Themes).
Connecting registries • Existing connections to other registries • which ones? • how is the connection implemented? At the moment there are no existing connections to other registries. There are planned connections to Bulgarian unified portal for access to administrative services and INSPIRE Geoportal. • Requirements for connections to the INSPIRE registry? • exchange formats • architecture • governance • how should extensions be represented? XML is planned for exchange format about the connections based on Web service API architecture. NSDI is required to be established as an open software architecture for easy extensions and modification.
Future development of INSPIRE registry • How are you using / planning to use the INSPIRE registry (software or service)? Usually through a web-applications with an accessible Web Service API. The example below shows the usage of INSPIRE themes (http://inspire.ec.europa.eu/registry/theme/) through GEMET Web service API (example is taken from metadata editor of the Bulgarian Surface Water Monitoring System): • Which additional features would you like to see? A Web service API will be very useful for data exchange to/from INSPIRE registry. • Which additional content would you like to see? A Conceptual model (feature catalogue and application schema of INSPIRE themes could also be useful to be accessible through the registry)
