Bearing Training: A-zZ IDC University’s Bearing Training: A-zZ is a comprehensive course examining the vast subject of bearings. Bearings are one of the most vital machine components. A single bearing failure can cost a company millions of dollars in maintenance and lost productivity. Premature failure of these crucial components can be prevented with proper knowledge and training. IDC University’s bearing training course provides essential knowledge and training. Class instructors (comprised of a team of engineers and seasoned industry professionals) will provide personalized training through customized lectures, special presentations and hands-on activities. Students will acquire the tools to become well-versed in bearing applications and specifications. Throughout this course, various types of bearings from different manufacturers will be discussed so that each student will be equipped with the knowledge they need to help their customers. Information presented during this course can be applied to any bearing manufacturer. We understand that end-users demand multiple bearing sources, thus making it important to have a bearing knowledge base that is not brand specific.
Bearing Training: A-zZ Bearing Basics An overview on the first day of class will include bearing history, common nomenclature, components and different types of bearings from different manufacturers which are the foundation of this course. Bearing Maintenance Students will learn proper storage and handling practices, as well as correct mounting and lubrication techniques. Lubrication principles will also be taught. Bearing Failure The causes of and solutions to many common bearing failures and troubleshooting these issues will be discussed. Bearing Applications In-depth, industry-specific information on the subjects of electric motors, pumps, gearboxes and many other applications, including extreme environments and their unique challenges will be covered. Life Laboratories Students will participate in several hands-on labs. While this course is taught by engineers, it is not necessary to be an engineer to understand the material. Thin Section and Slewing Bearings Through overview of thin section and slewing bearings, students will learn where these bearings are frequently used and the value they bring to customers and design engineers.
