  3. Changes to SEN • Part of an ongoing project • Capita are making changes in line draft code of practice to cover the statutory lookup changes.  Further changes will come in following releases when we have more definite confirmation of the new SEN code of practice

  4. Changes to SEN Spring 2014 • Start, End and recorded on dates • Existing SEN History renamed to SEN Change Log • New fully dated SEN Needs History • Better historical reporting

  5. Changes to SEN Summer 2014 • Statutory Changes – England only • E – EHCP (Education Health and Care Plan) • K – SEN Support

  6. Changes to SEN Summer 2014 Changes to SEN Need Types • Removed BESD (Behavioural, Emotional and Social Difficulty) • Added SMEH (Social, Mental and Emotional Health) NSA (SEN Support, but no specialist assessment of need)

  11. BESD Still Historical • BESD is visible for historical need types, but is not available to select as a new need. • BESD is still available in the reporting dictionary if you click ‘show all’

  12. New SEN Need Types • SEN need types have been added: • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) • SEN Support but no Specialist Assessment of Need (NSA)

  13. Additional Support Fields Relabelled • These dropdown fields are only statutory for Wales. • The set of fields has had a title of ‘Additional Support’ added.

SEN Setup Screen Changed – Additional tick box for Hide Additional Support (England only) Tools / Setups / SEN Setup For schools in England, the ability to hide the dropdown fields now labelled ‘Additional Support’ has been added to the SEN Setup area, which has been combined into one new panel for ‘SEN Settings’.
