GREEN GREEN GREEN GREEN RED MISSION: • Integrate/coordinate Sustainability Planning with Installation Strategic Planning • Provide Sustainability Planning Support to Army Installations • Enhance Army’s “Triple Bottom Line” FY 08 WORK PLAN Environmental Quality Division - Sustainability Program • Plan/Conduct Sustainability Workshops – Tier 1 and 2 sites Proposed: • Ft. Drum (coord. w/ NERO on-going) • Kaiserslautern (coord. w/IMCOM-E on-going) • Ft. Bliss (coord. w/Western Reg. on-going) • Ft. Irwin (coord. w/ Western Reg. on-going • Ft. Riley (coord. w/ WesternReg. on-going) • Alaska (On-hold. coord w/ PARO) • Initiate “Sustainability Action Plan”development • Plan and execute DARDEN • Plan and execute Sustainability Summit w/ASCIM ISE • Develop FY09 and FY10-15 Work Plans • FOCUS AREAS: • Sustainability Workshops - Planning and Execution • Sustainability Outreach and Information Transfer • Coordination with external Stakeholders • Develop “Sustainability Action Plan” with HQ IMCOM • Alignment with E.O. 13423 Goals AMBER CHALLENGES WORKSHOP PROCESS • Coordinate installation selection with IMCOM region • Conduct Planning/Scoping visit to installation • Formalize Workshop Commitment and Expectations • Conduct Workshops • Benefits to the Installation: • Better Understanding How Sustainability Requirements Affect Installation Operations • Identification Of Long-term Sustainability Goals And Objectives • Action Plans To Accomplish Near And Mid-term Sustainability Projects • Follow-on technical assistance visits • Integration Of Army Sustainability Goals Into Installation Strategic Planning • FY 2008: “Bring It Together” and “Set Targets”` • Leveraging internal resources • Standardizing the Army message and workshop process • Identifying Opportunities And Potential Partnerships With Other Agencies • Maintaining 1 full Team(+) to conduct workshops and Train-the-trainer • FY 2009: “Moving out” • Maintain 2 full Teams to conduct workshops • Finalizing “Sustainability Action Plan” w/HQ IMCOM • FY 2010-15: • Maintain 3 full Teams to conduct workshops
