  5. Reading Comprehension My Dream Last night I had a dream about being an astronaut. As I fell asleep I found myself counting, “Ten, nine, eight … blastoff!” I dreamed I blasted into space. I landed on Mars first. I raced in the red clay, making dust clouds behind me. Next I played leapfrog on the moons of Jupiter. Then I sailed around in the rings of Saturn. Suddenly, I began spinning out of control. Next thing I knew, I was on my bedroom floor. Someday I hope my dream comes true.

  11. Touch Money StrategyThis strategy is used to teach money until the children have a better grasp of number sense and the ability to “count-up” in the higher numbers. It allows the children to count amounts of change by 5’s instead of changing back and forth between 10s and 5s. “5, 10, 15, 20, 25… 30, 35… 40… 41”
