Kidney Patient Peer Supporter? Many patients find it helpful to have a one-to-one chat with an experienced patient who is trained to help. Sharing concerns and worries can help provide reassurance, increase confidence and help find a solution. • Aims • To establish a peer support service for all kidney patients at the Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals NHS Trust. Peer support will: • Provide short term practical, emotional and social support based on common experiences • Compliment the care and education from the kidney healthcare team • Build self-help support networks If you want to find out more about becominga trained ‘peer supporter’, contact: Jean Shears The Renal Unit, New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton Telephone 01902 695 466 Or email rwh-tr.kidneysupport@nhs.net for more information
