2014-15 School Year • School begins Monday, August 25th. • Building doors open at 8:30 AM (no earlier). • All students must be in their classroom seats by 8:50 AM. • Student dismissal begins at 3:35 PM. Automatic dismissal is called first, followed by student sign-outs for the day. • Buses are called as they arrive at the building .
Paperwork • Immunizations, Custody Issues, PFA – We need a copy of all paperwork. • Notes to the teachers are EXTREMELY important for any changes in the student’s regular routine. Without a note or a phone call to the teacher, we will place the child on the bus or parent pick-up (whatever is normal). *Please note: Sometimes phone messages do not get to the teacher. It is best to send a note ahead of time.
Building Security • Interior/Exterior security cameras monitor all areas of the school. • Intercom/Camera at main entrance doors • All visitors must enter through main entrance (east doors). • Visitor parking is located directly across from the main entrance. • Visitors must log-in and log-out on our computerized Ident-A-Kid program. • Photo id is required. • Visitor badges must be visible . • We are “all” responsible for making our school a safer environment.
Pick-up/Drop-off • Please make every attempt to send your children on the school bus. • Students who are being transported by their parents should be dropped off around the back of BMEE at the red doors closest to the playground. • If your child is not normally picked up at the end of the day and needs to be picked up, please notify the office no later than 3:00 .
NEW Pick-up Procedures • Last name that begins with A-L: picked up in the rear of the building on the macadam playground. • Last name that begins with M-Z: picked up on the side of the building facing the Middle School. • Subject to change after evaluating the volume of vehicles at each location.

Early Dismissals/Delays • ACT 80 days, Early Dismissals, and Emergencies – 1:05 dismissal • More phone numbers and information the better • Have an emergency plan in place • Eagle Express sign-up at www.bmsd.org (email notification) • WNEP text message to cellphones, etc. • School Reach - An automated system that will notify parents at their primary phone number of any significant program changes. *Test run will be Friday, August 22nd. • .

How are PTO Programs run? • By VOLUNTEERS • Parents • Teachers • Staff Everyone coming together to make our School Community be the BEST it can be! We can not wait for you to JOIN the FUN!
Remainder of the Evening • Teachers will be in classrooms until 7:30 PM. • Bus rides will be provided at the front of BMEE from 6:30 PM to 7:15 PM. • Evening will conclude at 7:30 PM.
Miscellaneous • Label EVERYTHING • Refrain from sending in valuable toys, games, jewelry, CD players, etc. • Pocket knives/weapons – PA state law – automatic 1 year expulsion • Discuss Handbook • Read to your child
