Inflections for Temporal Aspect Uninflected Recurring inflection Continuous
Uninflected The problem, activity, or situation only happened once EXAMPLE: YESTERDAY I THROW-UP. (I threw-up once yesterday)
Recurring Inflection(Regularly) The problem, activity, or situation occurs frequently or regularly Several times a day, everyday, every-week, every year EXAMPLE: YESTERDAY I THROW-UP +++. (sign with repetition) I threw-up several times yesterday
Continuous Inflection The problem, activity, or situation has occurred continuously with little interruption All–hour, all-morning, all-week EXAMPLE: YESTERDAY I THROW-UP. (slow/ circular movement) (Yesterday, I threw-up all day)
Why do we use inflection? To show how long an action lasts. To show how often the action occurs. To show how the signer felt about the length of time, rather than the actual period of time
