  2. Experienced Attorney He has been working with DeKoter, Thole & Dawson, PLC (previously known as Corcoran, Skiver & Zito lam firm) since June 1980. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and English from Calvin College in 1977 and thereafter attended the University of Iowa, to obtain his J.D. degree. Daniel DeKoter is a Martindale-Hubbell “AV” rated lawyer- the highest rating which a lawyer can receive professionally from the premier attorneyrating service in the nation.

  3. He is the past member of many church boards, Sibley Kiwanis, Sibley Library Board, Northwest Iowa Humane Society (president), and Iowa State Bar Association Legal Forms Committee (chair). Daniel DeKoter Attorney is an avid traveler who likes to explore new destinations. He takes part in a golf league in Sibley on Thursdays during summer and enjoys boating. He also donates a significant amount of money to promote reading.

Social Welfare Activities Over the past 5 years, he has donated to the Sibley Public Library, Sibley-Ocheyedan Community School District, the Melvin Public Library, the George Public Library, the Sanborn Public Library and the Ashton Public Library. He also donates to ATLAS of Osceola County which contributes substantial sums to the needy in Osceola County. In the last five years, his law firm has donated about $20,000 in cash to various charitable causes.
