  3. Run of Terry Fox • Voluntary charity event • In honor of Canadian Terry Fox • Profits- for research of cancer • 16th year in this year • Not competitive • Anyone can participate • Track can be completed in any way... • Idea- to join to the idea of Terry Fox

  4. Who was Terry Fox? • In 18 years doctors had to amputate his leg- it was suffering from cancer • He decided to help in the fight • He ran across Canada and he organized financial collection • 12. april 1980 he started his race- Marathon of Hope • 143 days- 5565 kilometres

  5. Daily- 42 kilometres • In Thunder Bay in province of Ontario he was forced to end his marathon • Cancer- to the lungs • 28. June 1981 he died • National hero • Marathon became tradition

  6. Quadrille Europan Dance Festival • international Dance Festival • dancing in different cities • founded in Slovenia • starts on the third Friday in May at 12 • entry into the Guinness Book of World Records • 32 416 young people

  7. What is Quadrille? • is an historic dance • performed by four couples in a square formation • came to exist in the 17th century in a France • the music composed Johann Strauss

  8. Quadrille in Prešov • involved for the fourth time • 5 184 partakers • the second place in a Europe • danced pupils from elementary and secondary schools • participated 29 schools from Prešov • Idea: ensure the presence of different schools
