  4. Population & Capital • The population in Thailand is 69,122,234. • The capital of Thailand is Bangkok. • The population in Bangkok is 8,000,000 • The population has decreased because of the floods in Thailand.

  5. Religion • The most common Religion in Thailand is Buddhism. • 94.5% of all Thai People follow Buddhism in Thailand. • 4.5% follow Islam. • There is a Big Buddha on in the south of Phuket (a well known city in Thailand) which is not finished yet.

  6. Language • Thai is the official language in Thailand. • Here are some basic words in Thai. • Hello = Sawadee • Thank you (man says) = KobKhunKrap • Thank you (woman says) = KobKhunKa • water = nam • very good = di mak • I love Thailand = Pom/chanrakMeuang Thai.

  7. Animals • Monkey- Monkeys are everywhere in Thailand. • Elephant- Thai people use elephants for a lots of things but sadly they are endangered. • Buffalo- Buffalo’s have been used for centuries • Tiger – there are only 500 wild tigers in Thailand. • Snake- For woman snakes are good luck

  8. Floods • Right now in Thailand there is a flood • It has been the biggest flood in Thailand for 50 years. • 500 people have been killed • And hundreds are still lost. • Now people are worried about sickness from the water.
