  2. Psalm 26 • David want to be judged by God – Psalm 26:1-3 • Psalm 7:8 • David has walked in his integrity • David is not declaring his sinlessness • Hebrew תֹּם refers to person’s integrity and sincerity • Genesis 20:5 • 2 Samuel 15:11

  3. Psalm 26 • “Innocent of willful wrongdoing” • How? • David had unwavering trust in the Lord • Like Paul – 2 Corinthians 1:12 • He walks righteously & is honest with himself – Psalm 15:2 • He asks God to examine his motives

Psalm 26 • David avoids the company of evil men – Psalm 26:4,5 • Blessings come to the man who is not a companion of the wicked – Psalm 1:1-6 • The companion of fools suffer harm – Proverbs 13:20 • Evil companions corrupt – 1 Corinthians 15:33 • It is who we keep separate from those living in sin- 1 Corinthians 5:9-11

  5. Psalm 26 • David worships in innocence – Psalm 26:6-8 • Priests required to wash before serving- Exodus 30:19,20 • It symbolizes removing of sin – Isaiah 1:16-18 • We lift up holy hands in worship – 1 Timothy 2:8 • Sing praises to our God – Psalm 84:1,2

  6. Psalm 26 • A plea not to be lumped in with sinners – Psalm 26:9,10 • There should always be a distinction between the righteous and the evil – Malachi 3:18 • God punishes the wicked, but the plea is that those who live righteously not be included in that destruction – Psalm 28:3-5

  7. Psalm 26 • But I will walk in my integrity – Psalm 26:11,12 • David knew he needed redemption – He wasn’t perfect – He needed God’s grace • That is why Jesus came – Titus 2:11-14 • And because of this David stood firm – Proverbs 10:9 • For this God is to be praised – Psalm 111:1
