  1. Inspire policy making by territorial evidence ESPON 2013 Programme Info Day 11 September 2013 Call for Proposals for Transnational Networking Activities by ECPs (22 August – 18 October 2013)

  2. Call for Proposals Priority 4 - Objectives and Requirements • Beneficiaries • Institutions nominated by Member and Partner States and confirmed by the ESPON Monitoring Committee as ESPON Contact Points (ECP). • Specific objectives • Boosting the outreach and use of ESPON results by regional/local policy makers. In addition to the key stakeholder communities the project should engage with new target groups so far not reached by capitalisation activities. • Actively contribute in innovative and creative ways to advancing the capitalisation and outreach efforts towards the identified target groups, including direct and interactive communication activities, such as “road shows”. • Making use of the deliveries from ESPON Priority 1 and 2 projects, as well as the numerous scientific tools (Priority 3) and publications (Priority 4) to be delivered during 2014. • Budget • Available total budget is 700.000,00 €.

  4. Call for Proposals Priority 4 - Objectives and Requirements • Specific requirements for the proposal • An overall capitalisation and outreach strategy that: • Includes activities/events with very direct and interactive communication techniques able to stimulate bridge-building between the ESPON “virtual mapping” of European territorial development and the “practical viewpoint” at local level. • Target specific stakeholders at both trans-national and local level, going beyond the “traditional” ESPON target groups and building stronger links with other EU funded Programme Secretariats. • Ensure the implementation of the proposed activities/events in all main European areas - North, South, East and West (large-small, centre-periphery). • Include all the type of actions as described under point 2.

  5. Call for Proposals Priority 4 - Objectives and Requirements • Specific requirements for the proposal (cont.) • A package of several actions to be implemented, including the following: • Appropriate tailor-made local activities and events taking into account the specific local contexts and cultures, generating debates with stakeholders to better focus future projects. • Events for a semi-specialised public, such as decentralised events where the ECP could organise parallel events allowing for a common transnational approach (e.g. during the period of the Open Days). • Development of materials of “universal character” adapted to the different target groups. • Intensive publicity/dissemination of activities and outputs. Use of social media tools and professional/ specialised PR and/or journalistic services.

  6. Call for Proposals Priority 4 - Objectives and Requirements Specific requirements for the proposal (cont.) Translation of relevant publications/documents developed for the outreach activities (up to 25% of the available budget.
