  6. Why do men rethink God’s ways? • Want something new – 2 Timothy 4:1-4, Jeremiah 6:16-17 • Don’t want the hard truth – Isaiah 30:8-11 • Think they know best – Jeremiah 7:22-24, 9:13-14, 11:6-8, 13:10, 16:12, 18:12, 23:16-17

When we need to rethink • 1 Corinthians 4:6a Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes, that you may learn in us not to think beyond what is written,… • Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

  8. When we need to rethink • 1 Peter 4:11a If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. • 1 Corinthians 4:17 For this reason I have sent Timothy to you, who is my beloved and faithful son in the Lord, who will remind you of my ways in Christ, as I teach everywhere in every church.

When we need to rethink • 1 Timothy 1:3 As I urged you when I went into Macedonia—remain in Ephesus that you may charge some that they teach no other doctrine, • 2 Timothy 1:13 Hold fast the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. • Galatians 1:6-9

  10. If you are outside of Christ, you need to do some rethinking. • Believe – John 8:24 • Confess – Matthew 10:32-33 • Repent – Luke 13:3 • Be baptized – Mark 16:16 • Be Faithful – Revelation 2:10
