  2. Indian English • Differences between BE – IE • › stress on every syllable • › dropping the -ed ending after /k/ • eg. Walked – walk • › IE -t- replaced by BE – th- rep • eg. Worth – wort • ›In RP, /r/ occurs only before a vowel. • Indian English use /r/ in almost all positions. • ›Tag questions:as in He's here, no? comes • from hindi. They use it in every question • they form.
