Artist UtagawaToyoharu(1733-1814) • Japanese born artist who created wood block prints. • He founded the Utagawa School of wood engraving. • Most of his works were Japanese style and included city prints.   6. Artist Jean Millet (1814-1875) (zhawnmee-lay) Frenchborn, Naturalist artist whose paintings featured poor people doing routine farm jobs. He chose to paint poor people working hard for not much reward, demonstrating that every job is important and has dignity. He too was a poor farmer and painted to help support his family.
