1CO 13:5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Easily Offended?
Pictures: • Bad tempered & impatient. • Touchy and hyper-sensitive. • Easily irritated & overreacting. • Unforgiving & indignant. • Unreasonable & does not listen. • Vengeful, loud & intense. • Abusive in words and action. • Feeling superior with hurt ego. • Always right and never wrong. • Cannot forgive & hard-hearted.
“Easy?” • I’m right & feel justified. • It’s not the actual murder. • The idiot deserves it. • I can control myself. • It’s not a crime. • I’m the leader. • I’m a Christian.
Who are They? • Mostly emotional • Carnal, immature saints • Think they are targeted • Don’t listen properly • Don’t value relationship • Fools with no fear of God,
Wait a minute.. • How do you tell someone they're so easily offended, without offending them?
No Value in Anger! • JAM 1:19-20 My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, 20 for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.
Proverbs 18:19 (NLT) “An offended friend is harder to win back than a fortified city. Arguments separate friends like a gate locked with bars.”
PRO 19:11 (AMP) “Good sense makes a man restrain his anger, and it is his glory to overlook a transgression or an offense.”
Eph 4:26-27 (living) 26 if you are angry, don't sin by nursing your grudge. Don't let the sun go down with you still angry-- get over it quickly; 27 for when you are angry, you give a mighty foothold to the devil.
PRO 29:11 • “a fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise man quietly holds it back.” • " a confident fool utters all his anger, but a wise man keeps it back and stills it.“ -AMP
Review: Inherent Change: • Deal with blindness first. • Die to all Self Promotion. • Draw near to God for change. • Devote change from within. • Derive the outward from within.
ROM 12:18-21 • If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord. 20 On the contrary: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.“ 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Experience Change! • Repent, from your heart. • Forgive, every offense. • Yield, to the Spirit, for fruit. • Fear God. • Love, even the undeserving.
