4 Reasons Why Grades Don’t Matter The current world of academia has become less about learning and more about scoring. To survive the cutthroat competition, students give it their all to score well, not focusing on whether they have gained any knowledge at all. However, the perception that grades are the end-all in a student’s life is more of a paradox. You see, Lionel Messi has failed to bring home the FIFA World Cup, but he is the G.O.A.T. after all!. If you have scored a D or an E (or, even an F), here are a few reasons to assure you that you are more than your scorecard. 1. Your mental health matters the most The average rate of student suicide cases for academic failure per hour is 23. So, while you read this blog, 20 or more youngsters like you are contemplating to end their lives. Quite often, in the race towards better grades, students forget that their mental health is their ultimate wealth. But what happiness would a summa cum laude give you if you are in a pit of darkness? Therefore, you must do everything to keep your sanity intact and never let academics affect your inner peace.
2. Education is to enlighten While caring too much about their grades, students end up missing the very point of education — learning. Your education goes beyond the material consequences of a diploma and is more about self-improvement. Moreover, don’t cry for the F you got in a math test. You never know, but you may find your calling in the assignment help & writing, where algebra won’t matter after all. So, don’t define your capabilities based on some number on a piece of paper. 3. Your job isn’t your ultimate goal It is a misconception that good grades are the prerequisite for a “good job” in the real world. With this understanding of education, many students often end up considering their grades to be the reflection of their self-worth. While a good job is important for paying bills, let Bill Gates remind you that college dropouts can usher in success in their lives as well. Moreover, careers are barely made out of degrees. Recruiters look for sincerity and passion when they hire someone. 4. Your life is about your experiences
At times, your grades make you lose sight of yourself. How many times have you turned down invitations, or locked yourself up in your room with your nose in your books ignoring guests? At the end of the day, your degrees and jobs will seem immaterial when you have no one to celebrate your victory with. So, appreciate the little things in life — like sharing your lunch with your classmate, attending a frat party or doing what you love. None of this means that it isn’t essential to work hard in school. Instead, this is a reminder that you are more than your grades. So, study hard to learn a new thing every day.
