Student success is the “heart” of the matter. Success in this case is defined as students being “Career and College Ready” by the time they exit BCPS. BCPS has traveled a great distance over the last three years. We were literally just barely in the foothills. We are now progressing towards the summit
District common assessment results, MAP results, Formative Assessment results (assessment for learning), and Summative Assessment results (assessments of learning)are the road signs that we follow to gauge how fast and how far we can travel with students at any given point
“Unpacked” standards, Clear Learning Targets, and Best Practices in curricular design, instruction, and assessment are the tools we have been using every day as we climb toward the goal of having all students College and Career Ready.
No one is exactly sure what is around the bend in regards to State testing. But we feel confident that BCPS is traveling the right path for students to be successful.
As the district continues to climb toward the goal of all students being College and Career Ready, we need the support of parents and the community.
