Wed, March 17, 2010 • Learning Goal: to calculate Keq • Questions over the LeChatelier Wkst • Questions over the reading • Homework
Happy St. Patty’s Day! • Find a partner and compare answers to the LeChatelier Wkst (with arrows) • What questions do you have?
Questions over the reading(Section 19.2) • Draw 2 graphs of concentration vs time for a completion reaction and a reversible reaction. • What is the formula for Keq? • Write the equilibrium expression for the following reaction: N2 (g) + 3H2 (g) 2NH3 (g) • Calculate the Keq for the reaction in #3 above when [H2]=0.15 mol; [N2]=0.25 mol and [NH3]=0.10 mol • What does it mean if Keq > 1? What if Keq < 1?
Homework: • Finish Equilibrium Wkst (pg one of stapled packet) • Knowledge Checks on Moodle: • LeChatelier Knowledge Check (Sec 19.2) • Open from Wed at 7AM to Friday at 10pm • Reaction Rates and Progression Curve (Sec 19.1 & 19.5) • Reopened from Wed 7AM to Thurs 11:30pm • LeChatelier Lab Quiz – Moodle • Bring labs on Friday • Ch 19 TEST (Sec 19.1, 19.2 and 19.5) on Fri, April 2!
