  2. Traumatic and sudden stressful events cause this disorder. • A few examples that cause this disorder are war, sexual assault, and natural disasters. Causes

  3. About 10% of Men and 5% of Women are diagnosed with PTSD in their lifetime. • 1 in 30 U.S. adults suffer from PTSD every year. Prevalence

  4. Makes you feel stressed and frightened even after all danger is gone. Causes: • Flashbacks • Trouble Sleeping, Nightmares, or even Night Terrors • Loneliness • Boisterous Outbursts • Uncommon amounts of Stress, Guiltiness, and Sadness Signs & Symptoms

  5. PTSD can affect everyone, even children, but it primarily affects adult males. • It especially affects war veterans. Most at Risk

  6. Avoid, as best you can, any place or event that may put you in extreme amounts of stress or danger. • Military programs also provide training on how to handle and deal with events of such nature. Prevention

  7. Medicines can help victims cope with and ease tension and fear. • Talk Therapy, talking with a trained doctor or counselor, also helps people who suffer from PTSD. • Talk Therapy usually last 6 – 12 weeks. Treatment
