Government Intervention • Reduction in cost of doing business; • Micro and Small Enterprises (MSE) Act 2003; • Mainstreaming of MSE into wide economy through linkages; • Private Sector oriented Business Development Services (BDS); • Improving access to market, business information, land and infrastructure; • Promoting entrepreneurship and gender equity; • Technology adoption, transfer and diffusion; and • Reduction in formal and informal barriers.

  3. The South Africa – Kenya Collaboration • Skills transference via a bilateral training and development intervention within the building blocks of NEPAD; • Cross border trade; • Sharing of Jua Kali’s work ethic of dedication and resourcefulness to young South Africans; • Cross transfer of South Africa’s marketing, entrepreneurial and general management skills; and • Upliftment of standard of living and self-esteem via sharing of experiences and broader life skills.
