The CEOS WGISSAtmospheric Composition Portal (ACP)Update Presented by Stefan Falke on behalf of the ACP Team Satellite Observations for Air Quality Management Workshop 11 January 2012 1
ACPMission Statement Provide access, tools, and contextual guidance to scientists and value-adding organizations in using remotely sensed atmospheric composition data, information, and services. Help foster interoperability and application of atmospheric composition data, information and services worldwide. Identify the unique requirements and common (shared) features of the ACC and GEOSS users to provide a value-added and complementary capability. Work with partners in CEOS and the broader AC community in advancing the AC Portal 2
ACP Planned Features 3 http://wdc.dlr.de/acp/ (beta) Information to help understand and use data Improved access to data OMI GOME-2 MODIS SCIAMACHY/ AATSR And others… Tools for processing and analysis Forums for exchanging analyses and other information 3
ACP Approach • Identify gaps among target user groups (AC scientists and value-adding organizations) • Identify existing capabilities across community that have potential to address gaps • Define methods for using those capabilities from an AC perspective • Work across ACP community to implement capabilities and make them useful to AC users
Map Viewer and Browser DLR developed web map visualization and data access tools that were reused, tailored and implemented for ACP usage Convention for specifying color scale legends with OGC Web Mapping Service (WMS) were defined and used across DLR, NASA GES DISC, and DataFed WMS services
Simple Subset Wizard Goal is to embed a new NASA tool into the ACP to help simplify the data access interface
