National college entrance exam which tests achievement related to high school curriculum • English, mathematics, reading, science, and writing (optional) • 2 hours and 55 minutes OR 3 hours and 25 minutes (w/ writing section) • $38 OR $54.50 fee (w/ writing)
How is the ACT scored? • Total number of correct responses yields a raw score; raw scores are converted to scale scores • Scale score from 1 to 36 on each section • Composite score is the average of the English, reading, math and science sections
ACT continued • Fee waivers available • Administration months: September, October, December, February, April and June of a school year • Advised for the spring of 11th grade and fall of 12th grade

ACT Registration • Create an account on www.actstudent.org • Provide your full legal name • Complete questionnaire and college profile • Select your test date and test option • Select your test center • Upload you photo • Choose college reports ($12 to send additional reports after the test)
ACT Fee Waivers • Enrolled high school junior or senior who meets one or more of the indicators of economic need • Maximum: two separate fee waivers • Waivers cover the basic registration fee • Application fee waivers
National college entrance exam which measures general verbal and quantitative reasoning; aptitude for college achievement • 3 critical reading, 3 mathematics, 3 writing, and 1 critical reading/mathematics/writing • 3 hours and 45 minutes • $52.50 fee
How is the SAT scored? • Each section score is reported on a 200- to 800-point scale, in 10-point increments, where 200 is the lowest score and 800 is the highest • Scale score is computed by first establishing the raw score: For each correct answer, one point is earned. For a wrong answer to a multiple choice question, ¼ point is deducted. • No points are deducted for unanswered questions or for wrong answers to math student-produced response questions.

SAT Fee Waivers • Juniors and seniors eligible for the Federal Free and Reduced Price Lunch program (FRPL) • Up to two registrations for the SAT and up to two registrations for the SAT Subject Tests • Up to four Request for Waiver of College Application Fee forms electronically
SAT Subject Tests • One-hour long, content-based test that give an opportunity to demonstrate knowledge and showcase achievement in specific subject areas • Some colleges use them for placement and advisement in course selection • Consult college admission policies for specific requirements
Test Day Reminders • Print your admission ticket • Arrive at test center no later than 7:45am • Have acceptable photo ID • Have two No. 2 pencils with soft erasers • Have acceptable calculator
