Success • “Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for life.” • Robert does not believe in just handing out money, but in teaching how to make your assets flourish. • Robert is a corporate mogul of sorts, keeping company with the likes of Donald Trump and Steve Forbes.
God and Happiness • Emi was struck with cancer and did not have the money to pay for treatment. • Robert gave her money, but after urged her to polish and find new horizons to find financial freedom. • “The beautiful thing about being human beings is that we have the opportunity to change, we don’t have to live in a rut.” • Robert was living a rich life, but lacked spiritual meaning in his life. His sister Emi a Buddhist nun showed him happiness through spiritual family • In 2006 Robert saw his sister standing next to the Dalai Lama, he felt such peace when he spoke to her. • “Just because you are rich does not mean you have succeeded in becoming who you were born to become.”
Money and Happiness • Robert believes that people live in fear and this limits them to live a richer and fuller life. • “As Capitalism spreads the American dream is evolving into a worldwide dream, many Americans will notice they are falling behind rather than leading the world in an economic lifestyle.” • World War II generation has Medicare and social security benefits to look forward too, however the same financial security will not be promised for generations to come.
The End • Robert was rich, but lacked spiritual richness. • Emi was spiritually rich but lacked financial richness. • “In reconnecting with Tenzin (Emi), I realized that a rich life has two balance sheets…a financial one and a spiritual one. My financial balance sheet was strong, but my spiritual one paled in comparison.”
