  2. Birth Date and Place of Birth Julius Erving was born on February 22,1950. Julius was born in Roosevelt, New York.

  3. Career Dr.J was an M.V.P in the A.B.A. and N.B.A. Julius scored 30,000 points during his career. He played on the Nets, the Virginia Squires, and the Sixers. Julius Erving played from 1971 – 1987.

  4. Accomplishments Dr. J invented the slam dunk. Dr. J made it into the Olympic games. Julius won a basketball match against Kareem Abdul Jabbar.

  5. Challenges One of the challenges Julius took was training to be a professional basketball player. Another challenge Julius took was playing the Lakers in the N.B.A championships. Julius had a hard time living in a poor family and sold fruits as a child to make money.

  6. Julius Erving was an M.V.P in the N.B.A and the A.B.A. Dr. J invented the Slam dunk.
