Filter Questions • Is it theologically sound? • Obedient to the Word/Scripturally Sound • Fulfills the Great Commission • Obeys the Great Commandment • Is it missiologically sound? • Does it take the Gospel to the masses? • Is evangelism and church planting done through discipleship? • Can the work move to others from the beginning point of the work? • Is work founded on natural leaders?
Filter Questions • Does it follow church growth mandates? • Focus on multiplying new units. • Disciples • Bible Studies • Churches • Cities • Nations • Establish the lowest possible threshold of barriers to conversion based upon New Testament polity and examples. • Train leaders who train others in every area of Church life.
Filter Questions • Does it have focus? • Nation, City, Unreached People Group or Population Segment • Are there measurable accountability factors? • It should measure what men do, and celebrate what God does? • Men evangelize/God saves • Men gather Believers/God establishes church • Men pray/God performs miracles
Measure the Right Things • Measure what we do, and celebrate what God does • Measure what brings success – success is defined by reproduction and sustainability in the local context • Measure the indicators that lead to CPM • Measure the focus, not the fringe • Measure what is intentional, and report what is serendipitous
Measure What Brings Success • Is there a prayer strategy? • How many people over what period of time? • How will communication be maintained? • What are the reporting mechanisms? • Is there a Scripture strategy? • How will Scripture be used? • How will it be deployed? • If not in existence, what will be done? • What formats will be distributed/used? • How many units distributed/used?
Measure What Brings Success • Is there an ministry/access strategy? • How will outsiders meet insiders? • How will felt needs be determined? • How will you define success in access? • How will potential leaders be found? • How will you find those who have been prepared by God to receive the Gospel (Persons of Peace)? • How will you identify yourself as a spiritual person? • How many people will you meet daily?
Measure What Brings Success • How will you move from working with one person to working with his/her family or affinity group? • What is your plan for making disciples? • How do you move from being a discipleship group to being a church? • How will you identify leaders? • How will you train leaders? • How will you train “ministry to others” inside and outside the groups?
