  2. Individual... 12 year old- Hormonal boy Active- Trains and plays soccer up to 3 times a week Average Student- Grades are average in most situations African-American- Minority group within Australia Only Child- No brothers or Sisters

  3. Microsystem... The influences that have the main effect on Brian’s day to day life, such as family, school and friends. Mother- Single parent who works 2 jobs to maintain their lifestyle Carer- Elderly next door neighbour who watches Brian while mother works Sports Team- Under 13’s Soccer team Coach/PE Teacher- Helps get Brian to some training sessions School- Local public school Friends- From School and his soccer team

Mesosystem, Friends can sometimes distract Brian from schoolwork Microsystem Microsystem Friends, School friends that play soccer with Brian School, Brian attends the local public school Mesosystem, Influence of friends can cause problems at home Mesosystem, Problems within the family can effect school work Microsystem Mother, sole parent, working 2 jobs

Church- Brian, his mother and his grandparents go to church weekly Mother’s work- Receptionist full time, packs shelves 3 evenings per week

  7. MACROSYSTEM: Social blueprint of a given culture such as customs and resources, etc High unemployment rate- Mother needs to work both jobs to be able to afford repayments on their family home. Sports orientated society- Give Brian direction as his goal is to play soccer professionally. Christian faith- Brian’s family are all practising Christians

  8. CHRONOSYSTEM: Trends in time based dimensions, on a global level that change peoples idea’s and standards. Global Financial Crisis- Helping with lower house repayments but puts Mother’s second job at risk. Growing trend towards alternative family structures- the idea of a “normal” family is very different from years ago.
