Focus of the RCMT Weekly Meetings RCMT Content Development • Lab Diagnostic Information • Types of lab tests performed to detect a reportable condition • Organisms or Agents associated with a reportable condition • Lab Criteria - CSTE Position Statement & NNDSS Case Definition. • Resources or links related to a reportable condition. • Demonstration of Standardized Lab Vocabulary associated with a reportable condition • LOINC – Condition Specific Lab Tests • SNOMED CT – Lab Test Results (Organism) • Questions for Lab SME or Epidemiologist • RCMT phConnect online discussions
RCMTs & You We need you! • Who? • Examples: lab and epi SMEs, jurisdictional staff with operational responsibility for lab messaging or ELR systems. • Familiar with (or want to dive deeply into) LOINC and SNOMED terminology issues related to reporting • What? • Review RCMT content and delivery mechanisms and provide feedback • When? - Every Thursday between 12 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Eastern. RCMT Content Development & Review Process • RCMT Planning Team – Develops RCMT Workbook with standard lab vocabulary and useful web site links. • Review the lab tests and criteria with CDC program Lab SME & Epidemiologist. • Demonstrate the RCMT Workbook on Thursday Meetings • Continue Online Discussions – phConnect / E-mail • RCMT planning team and ELR Standards Workgroup will address the questions on phConnect / E-mail. • Follow-up with CDC program, if needed • Distribute the first version of RCMT – June 30th, 2011 via CDC Vocabulary Server (PHIN VADS) • Maintain the RCMT – Ongoing process
RCMT Demo Schedule • RCMT Content Demo Schedule is available on RCMT phConnect site – http://www.phconnect.org/group/rcmt • 10 minutes per condition “Show and Tell” of RCMT and 5 minutes discussion. • RCMT content files will be posted in phConnect (RCMT Workgroup) for offline discussion and feedback. • Demo Schedule will be updated based upon public health program SME (lab and Epi) availability. • Demo Schedule: • Nationally Notifiable Condtions • Bacterial, Viral, Parasitic, Fungal, Non-Infectious,etc.. • Non-Nationally Notifiable Conditions are not covered in the current demo schedule. If there is a good interest and participation, we may schedule these conditions demo also.
