Science Class • Textbook – Stem Scopes online • Katy ISD>Students>Portal Secondary>Online Textbooks>Grades 6-8 Stem Scopes • Login: Katy ID# (unique to each student) • Should be similar to: C1104743 • Password: Katy123! • B.Y.O.Device is often encouraged • Grades • Minor: Labs and Performance Tasks- mostly 40% • Major: Tests & Projects 45% • Other: HW and small class assignments 15% • Lowest “Other” dropped

How can I help my child be successful in Science? • Ask to see graded papers (in Science Binder) • Check our website/Canvas CALENDAR each week (HW, tests, quizzes, labs, projects listed)—directions on coming slide • Develop good study habits & routines • Check the online grade book WEEKLY • Help is available during advisory and after school until 3:10 on Tues & Thurs…

How can I help my child be successful in Science? • Sign up for my Remind • Many documents loaded on our Documents page & Canvas(top tab on our Science webpage) & calendar (click on event for the linked doc) • study guides • study guide keys (once checked) • HW in case your child loses his/her HW • Project forms • Print in library for 10cents a page black/white OR 25 cents a page for color
