CHBC Church Meeting Property Development August 2004
Vision The People and Ministry of CHBC over the next Ten Years and Beyond…
To be a church characterized by: Needs Based Evangelism... Functional Structures... Empowering Leadership... Gift-oriented Ministry... Inspiring Worship Services... Passionate Spirituality... Holistic Small Groups... ..and Loving Relationships
Our prayerful desire is that CHBC will be a place where: God is glorified by reflecting that people are more important than buildings, ministry more important than outcomes and everyone has a place in God’s kingdom. [This means that the church must be committed to training Christians in faith and ministry, engaging relationally with our surrounding community both on and off site.]
In ten years we hope before God that CHBC will be known for being: • Conservative evangelical in theology, radical in ministry • A centre of training, development and sending out of Christian people into new settings and communities • A loving church committed to engaging with the needs of its community, inside and outside the church • A community that demonstrates the wonders of God and His Gospel • A community that is creative and willing to count the cost in reaching new people with the gospel • A community where families are supported, trained and helped
To achieve this we will need a property that provides: • More training rooms • More space for sitting and talking together, both privately and corporately • More parking for easy accessibility • More storage for ministry tools • More opportunities for engaging with the needs of the wider community • Good accessibility for those in the business and shopping precincts • A welcoming location for the passing public
Other Factors • CHBC – a local church • Missional • Cross-cultural • Emphasis on small & sectional groups • Adapting to new generations • No common world views • Relationships not propositions • Emphasis on small & sectional groups
