  2. Physical Change A change in the size, shape or state of matter. There is no new matter being formed. Examples: An ice cube melting, Ripping paper and breaking a stick.

  3. Chemical Change A change in matter that results in one or more different kinds of matter being formed. Examples: Log burning to ashes, candle wick burning, rust, rotting.

  4. States of Matter Colloid= A mixture of a liquid and a solid. Solid= Something that has definite shape and volume. Liquid= Something with definite volume, but no definite shape. Gas= No definite shape or volume.
