  3. Why? • Passive learners • We teach process of acquiring knowledge • The flipping fad

  4. Nothing New • See One, Do One, Teach One • Peer Instruction

  5. Goals • Active Learning • Instill Habits of Life-Long Learners • Collaborative Learning

  6. Why Citation? • “Instruction” already exists • Citation is not about knowledge or skills, but the ability to acquire knowledge and skills • Concrete/Achievable

  7. Details • Groups of 3-4 students assigned one of 5 topics: • Cases • Statutes and Regulations • Secondary Sources • Signals, Subsequent History and Weight of Authority Parentheticals • Court Documents • Provided list of resources with which to “expertise” themselves • Group prepares lesson plan • Meets with me to discuss • Teaches class
