TCs Needing Attention • Public Transportation Management • Intelligent Water Transportation Systems • Railroad Systems and Applications • ITS for Air Traffic • Port Automation and Management • Vehicular Safety Technologies and Applications • Software Infrastructure in ITS
Conference Coordination • Working closely with ITSC 2010 Program Chair • All TC Chairs have been automatically assigned AE role • Multiple special sessions being organized • All TCs helping recruit reviewers • A proposal: starting in ITSC 2011, experimenting with at least 3 tracks from • Communications Networks, Mobile Comm., Traffic and Travel Mgmt, Logistics & Services • Helping IV with providing AEs
ITSS Chapters • Need to establish new Chapters based on society review recommendations • Currently the Beijing chapter has been very active helping organize multiple ITSS conferences • Need to have a detailed policy document discussing responsibilities and privileges of Chapters • A proposal • VP for Membership and VP for Technical Activities jointly determine 3-4 international hotspots of ITS research and actively recruit chapter chairs • Candidates: Vienna, Tokyo, Toronto
IEEE ITSS Technical Activities ITSS Website - Operations • IEEE Tech Navigator database: continued work on ITS portion • A proposal: creating IEEE ITSNow, following IEEE CS’ ComputingNow, coordinated through technical subcommittees • Closer coordination with the Newsletters & Magazine to post feature articles • Better coordination with the Transactions & possibly ITS conferences to feature most popular Xplorer downloads • RSS feeds already online • An award section done • A TC Corner (committed so far: MESA; Comm. Networks; Mobile Comm.)
