  1. Brad Arnold And his band 3 Doors Down

  2. 3 Doors Down The Band 3 Doors Down was formed in Escatawpa, Mississippi in 1995. In the beginning there were only three members in the band; lead vocalist and drummer Brad Arnold, Bass player Todd Harrell, and lead guitar player Matt Roberts.

  3. Brad Arnold Brad Arnold Lead singer was born in Escatawpa, Mississippi on September 27, 1978. He was married on May 12, 2001 to Terika Roberts and they currently reside in Jackson, Mississippi.

  4. Todd Harrell Todd Harrell was born in Escatawpa, Mississippi on February 13, 1972. He was given the birth name Robert Todd Harrell

  5. Matt Roberts Matt Roberts was also born in Escatawpa, Mississippi on January 10, 1978.

  6. Chris Henderson A couple years later Todd Harrell asked Chris Henderson to join the band and at that time they would record their demo album at Lincoln Recording in Pascagoula, Mississippi.

  7. The Better Life Foundation They created The Better Life Foundation. This foundation was to give all kids a hope for a better life.

  8. Hurricane Katrina During the devastating occurrence of Hurricane Katrina, The Better Life Foundation had raised enough money to afford buying three police cars and a fire truck. With efforts form Wal-Mart they were also able to supply the town with 3 semi-trucks full of food.

  9. The Better Life and it was released on February 2, 2002. It became the 11th bestselling album of the year. The album sold over 3 million copies and has been certified six times platinum. The largest hits on the album went international with “Kryptonite”, “Loser”, and “Duck And Run.

  10. Away From The Sun Was released in 2002. Guitarist Alex Lifeson produced and performed three songs but only “Dangerous game” would make the albums finish. This album is also the start of Daniel Adair’s debut with the band. He not only recorded the album but he was also there for the band’s first music video of “When I’m Gone”.

  11. Seventeen Days released in 2005. The album has been certified platinum.’ The singles “Let Me Go” and “Behind those Eyes” were the albums top hits. ……….. In 2005 the band would go on tour to play with LynyrdSynyrd. And at this point in time Greg Upchurch would accept the job of drummer for the band.

  12. 3 Doors Down self-titled album 3 Doors Down on May 20, 2008. It hit number one on the Billboard 200 list. The album sold 154,000 copies in the first week. It was the bands second number one album on the chart after Seventeen days and it was their fourth album to reach top ten. The albums singles consisted of the hits “It’s Not My Time”, “Train”, “Let Me Be Myself”, and “Citizen/Soldier”.

  13. Time Of My Life Later on July, 2010 Brad would mention at a concert in London, Ontario, Canada that they were due to start recording there new album which would be entitled “Time Of My Life”. Time Of My Life has released its album single on February 2, 2011 titled “When You’re Young”. The album will be released spring time of 2011.

  15. Be Like That • 0:13 As the riff is repeated the second time the bass guitarist softly plays a crescendo holding one note for about 20 seconds. The electric guitar is building up for verse number one in the song. • 1:19 Bridge The singer slows way down holding notes longer singing two lines as the band continues the strong steady beat now being played by the drummer. The band together plays a diminuendo going into verse two. • 2:20 Chorus The chorus plays again the same as the first time. The violin sound goes away until halfway through the chorus. The singer speeds up his tempo through the chorus.

  16. Here Without You • 0:00 Intro The intro starts with an acoustic guitar playing a soft melody. The riff is played once and then goes straight into the song. • 1:26 Verse 2 In the second verse the band continues the same music as was in verse one and the chorus. Now all the instruments are playing. You can barely hear the bass rhythm player as his notes play on rhythm with the drummer. At 1:53 there is a sudden change. • 1:54 Chorus This chorus is sung the same as the first chorus was sung. The band plays louder as they reach their peak of the crescendo. • 2:20 Bridge The band hits there peak in volume and the singer is really feeling it as he sings different words as the chorus but has the same music. The last note the vocalist sings is held out as the band continues to play. With him doing this leads the band into closing out the song.

  17. When I’m Gone • 0:00 Intro The lead guitar starts playing the melody as the back-up guitar plays counterpoint starting at 0:03. At 0:12 the bass guitar plays a quick arch and on the diminuendo of the arch the drums enter. • 0:13 Verse 1 The singer begins singing a high tenor pitch and the band is playing in harmony. At about 0:40 the band changes it melody playing a higher pitch signaling the chorus. • 0:51 Chorus The tempo picks up and the guitars go from pizzicato style to playing chords. At this point in the chorus you can tell that they are playing a Triple/simple meter and continue strong playing forte throughout the chorus. • 1:20 Verse 2 The beginning of verse begins with a small guitar solo lasting through 1:32 and the vocalist makes his transition to a slower tone for the verse. The band plays the same music as the vocalist continues but at the end of the verse but this time there is no change in the melody the only thing that leads you into the chorus is the drummer again picking up the tempo. • 1:56 Chorus The band plays the same as the first chorus in a forte manner and is in triple/simple meter. The last note of the chorus is held out as it leads into another guitar solo. The

  19. When I’m Gone • The first song is When I’m gone was produced by Rick Parashar with Republic Records. It was first released October 21, 2002 and was the number one hit • Brad Arnold, Todd Harrell and Chris Henderson wrote the lyrics but the music was compiled by all members of the band. The song made its way into the video game world that same year when it appeared on the rhythm game Band Hero. • The song has had its own music video where the band filmed on the USS George Washington in the Mediterranean Sea. The video was dedicated to all the military fighting over seas. Also overseas, the song has become a hit in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

  20. Here Without You • The song was written by Brad Arnold, Todd Harrell, Chris Henderson, and Matt Roberts and the music was compiled by all members of the band including Greg Upchurch. This song was produced by Rich Parashar with Republic Records. • Here Without You was first released in October of 2002 and the album release came later on November 12, 2002. This single peaked at number five on the Billboard Hot 100 in November 2003. • the main inspiration for this song was ironically, his ex-wife. “The song is about being away from someone and missing them... and about the loneliness that comes with missing someone. It's also about a state of peace that comes with dreaming of the missed loved one. The lines 'And when the last one falls/when it's all said and done..' mean that even when the world falls apart, the love never dies."

  21. Be Like That • The last song called “Be Like That” was written by Brad Arnold and Chris Henderson. The song appeared on the first album The Better Life. It was produced by Paul Ebersold with Universal records. • This song was altered and produced on a soundtrack for a 2001 movie titled American Pie 2.
