Population and demography in Finland Population density in the EU is approximately 114 inhabitants/km2. Finland’s population density is 17,6 inhabitants/km2. Population density in East Finland is 7,6 inhabitants/km2. There are only 0,2 inhabitants/km2 in the most sparsely populated municipalities in Finland.

What it takes to get a Structural Funds project started • Understand the regional needs and align your action to them – this is not about science nor data • Develop a bold vision – this is a about changing existing structures • Discuss with the regional authorities (state, provincial, city, universities, …) • Find partners and 20-30% self-financing
