Compare to and tune the MC to the date to uderstand the tau Id efficiency as a function of pt for each type of hadronic tau Compare tau cross section to Z->ee and Z->mumu events Is your code ready to Z->ee and Z->mumu cross sections measurement? Set up review of new GCT tau algorithm with Costas

  3. Ongoing work I am building my analysis package to be ready for data-taking Tag And Probe Muon Efficiency Muon Fake Rate Control Samples ZTT (from Z mumu by embedding) My embedding code needs only AOD W+Jets Ersatz MET Method from ZMM QCD Loose muon isolation

Contributions to the EWK Tau group We will contribute on the systematics evaluation Looked at the common EWK tolls and some things that need to be written There is a meeting tomorrow We will also contribute to the Tau ID(PAG/POG)

  5. Theoretical Systematics PDFs Tool exists to run with different PDF sets and assign event weights Less important ISR:Tool exists to account for the Z pt spectrum corrections by applying weights FSR:Tool exists to apply weights to get systematics for correcting the pythia LO for NLO QED

Experimental systematics We need to smear the candidates and observe the change in the cross section Should be able to smear direction and energy scales Muon smearing already available We need to write the tau smearing Smear the tau LorentzVector Also should be possible to smear the track and photon vectors and then update the tau MET smearing exists Need to see if it supports types of MET we use

  7. Tau ID I have the new Tau ID Version 1 : Uses clusters + Tracks Needs RECO data A lot of custom code Version 2 : Uses PF Builds the tau from PF Candidates A bit better than Version 1 Both better than standard tau ID Needs AOD Preparing a POG presentation of version 2
